What will I learn during the course?

During the Polytechnic in Fire Technology and Safety course, you will learn a wide range of subjects that prepare you for real-life safety and emergencies. The course covers the science behind fire, including how fire starts, spreads, and can be controlled. You will study combustion processes, types of fuels, fire behaviour, and methods to prevent fire accidents in different environments such as homes, industries, and public places.

You also learn about fire extinguishing techniques, including how to use various fire extinguishers, hydrant systems, sprinklers, alarms, and modern firefighting equipment. Training includes live demonstrations and hands-on practice, so students become confident in handling emergencies.

The course also includes industrial and occupational safety, where you understand safety rules, hazard identification, accident prevention, and risk assessment used in factories, power plants, construction sites, and chemical industries. You will study safety laws, standards, and regulations followed in India and worldwide.

Along with technical training, you will practice rescue operations, including high-rise rescue, confined space rescue, evacuation techniques, and emergency handling during natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, and fires. The program also teaches first aid, CPR, trauma care basics, and emergency planning.
