What subjects are covered in the LLB syllabus?

The LLB curriculum is quite diverse, usually teaching students about numerous subjects to strengthen their law-related knowledge. However, there are two main subjects, the core: the Constitutional Law covers the structure and functionality of the government and how they interact with their citizens; while the Criminal Law discusses offenses and penalties. Other pertinent subjects involve Contract Law, which deals with agreements and related legal obligations;

Tort Law, which handles civil wrongs and liabilities; and Property Law, in which rights and ownership of property are developed. Other subjects such as Family Law, Labour Law, and Administrative Law also support deeper understanding of relationships in personal, at work, and governmental contexts. Legal methods, legal research, and writing skills are also provided for in the curriculum so students are adequately prepared for practice.

In later years, some of the more specialized subjects encountered are International Law, Intellectual Property Law, Human Rights Law, and Environmental Law which expands the reach of legal education. Other electives include Banking and Finance Law, Corporate Law, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. This affords students an opportunity to pursue interests in specializations. In the LLB curriculum, internship and moot court competitions are vital parts of a student's practice in law as it equips him with a proper skill in practicing law effectively.
