What kind of topics do we study in this course?

In the Polytechnic in Aeronautical Engineering course at Panipat, students study a wide range of topics that cover almost every aspect of aircraft design, construction, and maintenance. The program combines theoretical knowledge with practical training to prepare students for real-world aviation jobs.

One major area is aerodynamics, where students learn how air flows over aircraft wings and bodies, and how this affects lift, drag, stability, and control of the aircraft. This helps in understanding why aircraft fly the way they do.

Another important topic is aircraft structures, which covers the design and construction of airframes, fuselage, wings, and landing gear. Students learn about materials used in aircraft, structural strength, and how to inspect and maintain these components.

Propulsion systems are also studied, which includes jet engines, turboprops, rocket motors, and other engine types. Students learn how engines produce thrust, how fuel is supplied and burned, and how to maintain engine efficiency.

The course also includes avionics, which focuses on aircraft electronics such as navigation systems, communication systems, flight instruments, and autopilot. Students gain practical knowledge of how these systems operate and are maintained.

Other topics include aircraft maintenance practices, flight-control systems, aircraft engines and fuel systems, safety standards, and emergency procedures. Students also learn CAD/design for aircraft, simulation techniques, and practical exercises to get hands-on experience.
