Maharashtra: MHT-CET 2026 is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra. It is one of the most important exams for students who want to take admission in professional undergraduate courses such as engineering (B.E./B.Tech), pharmacy (B.Pharm/Pharm.D), and agriculture programs.
The exam is conducted in online mode (Computer-Based Test), where students answer multiple-choice questions on a computer at the exam centre. It is designed to test a student’s understanding of subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology based on the Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus.
MHT-CET plays a key role in the admission process of many government and private colleges across Maharashtra. Based on the marks and percentile scores in the exam, students can participate in the Centralised Admission Process (CAP), where seats are allotted according to merit, category, and preferences.
One of the advantages of Maharashtra: MHT-CET 2026 is that there is no negative marking, which allows students to attempt all questions without fear. Also, since the syllabus is closely aligned with the state board curriculum, students who prepare well during their school studies can perform strongly in the exam.
