Is the course three years or two years?

The Diploma in Medical Lab Technician course offered at Puran Murti Campus, Sonepat, is officially a 3-year full-time program, divided into 6 semesters. While in some informal descriptions it may be referred to as a “2-year diploma,” this typically excludes internship or training components, which are integral to the full course structure. The correct and recognized duration by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Haryana State Board of Technical Education (HSBTE) is three academic years.

During these three years, students undergo a well-structured academic journey that includes:

  • Classroom learning covering core subjects such as Human Anatomy, Clinical Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Hematology.

  • Practical lab sessions to develop real-world diagnostic and testing skills.

  • Internships or hospital training in the final semester, allowing students to gain clinical experience in reputed healthcare settings.

For students entering through lateral entry (after 10+2 or ITI), the program duration is 2 years (4 semesters), as they join directly in the second year.

This 3-year structure ensures that students not only build a solid theoretical foundation but also develop hands-on skills necessary to work confidently in diagnostic labs, hospitals, and research centers.
