To join aerospace engineering colleges in India, a student must meet specific eligibility requirements. The most common and standard qualification is completing 10+2 (senior secondary) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as core subjects. Most top institutions, including IITs, IIST, and reputed private aerospace colleges in India, expect students to have strong academic performance in these subjects.
Many aerospace engg colleges in India also accept students who have completed a diploma in engineering (especially in mechanical, aeronautical, or aerospace fields). These diploma holders may be eligible for lateral entry into the second year of the degree program, based on entrance exams or merit.
Age criteria, physical fitness, and performance in entrance exams like JEE Main, JEE Advanced, or institute-level tests may also be considered during admission. So, while not "anyone" can join directly, students who meet the academic and exam criteria have a great chance to start a career in the exciting field of aerospace engineering.
