India is one of the top sources of candidates for Riyadh Air job opportunities, said CEO Tony Douglas. The website of the airline has seen 1.4 million applications from 146 nationalities over two years, with Indians contributing a substantial share. The Saudi Arabia-owned airline will start operations shortly. Douglas added, In the past two years, we have got 14 lakh applications from 146 nationalities of which 52% are females. India is among the largest source countries for the applications. We are inundated by the interest and confidence in our brand, even though hitherto we have not proclaimed any salary schemes. Riyadh Air already employs 500 staff, consisting of pilots and cabin crew, with Indians comprising the second biggest group after the Saudis. It has ordered up to 132 Airbus A321neos and Boeing 787 Dreamliners and is considering additional orders for ultra-long-range planes. India is one of Riyadh Airs most important markets, with 1.5 million Indian travelers having visited Saudi Arabia in 2024. Douglas also cited Indias growth potential, explaining that 93% of passengers at Riyadh are point-to-point, rather than the greater percentages of transit traffic found in other Middle Eastern hubs. The airline plans to take advantage of this potential as it grows its fleet.
