SANKALP STUDENT CLUB – PURAN MURTI Vidyapeeth

The club serves as a platform for budding technocrats to explore emerging technologies, cultivate problem-solving skills, and develop innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
It acts as a bridge between theoretical learning and practical application by organizing and participating in national-level competitions such as the Smart India Hackathon (SIH), technical workshops, coding marathons, project exhibitions, and idea generation contests.

The club operates under the guidance of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Puran Murti Vidyapeeth, encouraging students from all disciplines to collaborate and contribute to a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship

Purpose and Objectives

The core purpose of the Sankalp Student Club is to nurture an ecosystem of innovation and technological excellence among students. Its key objectives include:

  1. Encouraging Innovation: Inspire students to ideate, innovate, and build technology-driven solutions to local and global challenges.
  2. Skill Enhancement: Provide practical exposure to advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Robotics, Data Science, and Cloud Computing.
  3. Participation in National Platforms: Motivate and mentor students to participate in the Smart India Hackathon (SIH), Toycathon, and other government-recognized innovation challenges.
  4. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Promote teamwork and knowledge exchange among students from engineering, management, pharmacy, and applied sciences.
  5. Industry Interface: Foster interaction with industry experts, startups, and innovators for mentorship, training, and internships.
  6. Community Impact: Encourage technology-based solutions for social development, sustainability, and digital inclusion.

Major Activities and Achievements (AY 2024–25)

  1. Participation in Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024:
    • Teams from Sankalp Club actively participated in both Software and Hardware editions of SIH 2024.
    • Multiple innovative problem statements were submitted addressing sectors like smart healthcare, digital agriculture, waste management, and education technology.
    • The college-level hackathon served as an internal screening round to shortlist teams for national participation.
    • Faculty mentors guided the teams through ideation, prototype development, and presentation stages.
  2. Internal Hackathon and Idea Marathon:
    • Organised an Internal Smart India Hackathon (SIH) at the college level as per the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) guidelines.
    • Students presented prototypes and solutions to real-life challenges.
    • The event witnessed participation from over 150 students across 25 teams, showcasing innovative ideas and technical expertise.
  3. Workshops & Technical Training Sessions:
    • Conducted hands-on sessions on AI/ML, Python Programming, Android App Development, and IoT Applications.
    • Collaboration with industry experts and alumni for knowledge sharing and mentorship.
  4. Tech Fest Participation:
    • Members of Sankalp Club represented Puran Murti Vidyapeeth in various inter-college technical fests and national-level coding competitions, earning recognition for their creativity and teamwork.
  5. Innovation & Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs:
    • In coordination with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), the club organised innovation bootcamps, ideation sessions, and startup orientation programs to inspire entrepreneurial thinking among students.
  6. Social and Technical Outreach Activities:
    • Students developed community-focused tech projects like water-level monitoring systems, smart irrigation models, and digital attendance systems.
    • Awareness drives are conducted to promote Digital India, Skill India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat missions through student innovation.

Impact and Outcomes

  • Enhanced participation of students in national innovation challenges.
  • Development of several student-led prototypes with potential for patent filing and startup incubation.
  • Strengthened the innovation ecosystem within Puran Murti Vidyapeeth.

The Sankalp Student Club has emerged as a catalyst for innovation and skill development at Puran Murti Vidyapeeth. Through its consistent involvement in the Smart India Hackathon and other technical events, the club has successfully nurtured a community of innovators, developers, and thinkers who are ready to contribute to India’s technological advancement and societal development.
It continues to stand by its motto — “Ideate, Innovate, and Implement” — inspiring students to convert their ideas into impactful solutions for a smarter and self-reliant nation.
